My site | The War of Winds | What it Takes | Twitter | Facebook | Tumblr

Current idea for the redo of my homepage. Will chew on it for a few days until I start to code. There are a few elements I think could be better interlocked, but I'm a bit fond of negative space in designs that are meant for ad placement. Thoughts are welcome, can't guarantee I'll agree with you, but at least I'll listen :)

EDIT: the site is now live. View it here!

Overall I really like this design. The only thing I'm not digging is the standard Arrow forward and back buttons. I think it would be pretty cool to jazz them up a bit with a Font turned into a graphic or a combination of a small graphic and font forward back arrows...

Personal preference of course, but I do like this overall.

Hmm, those arrows are meant specifically to be stereotypical, in order to illustrate their generic function. They aren't meant to go anywhere or do anything other than to roll over to say "first" "last" etc. It's meant to accompany the "don't know what webcomics are?" bit. The one thing I hear over and over again from people who have never read a webcomic is that they have no idea what the nav buttons are.

Ah, well then I stand corrected. Heh. I couldn't read all of what you have going there. NM then!

I agree. It's a very good design that is not hampered, but supported by the arrows. Keeping them generic, grounds the sophisticated design to keep it useable.
