EDIT 2: Added 2 duotone panels, as advised to try by Taka of Taka Comics ([link])
3 is what I use for [link]
5 is what I use for [link]
EDIT:
Normal lines, heavy (experimental) lines, normal lines with normal coloring style, heavy lines with normal coloring, normal lines with simple toning I use for Not Alone, heavy lines with normal toning.
I want my next side-comic to look distinctly different, but I also need it to not take forever. Picture 4 here would take the longest. Any thoughts on your favorites? I'm also thinking about toning with a different color, like purple or orange instead of a dark red (that looks gray here).
DL for larger size.
------
My next short comic is probably going to be black and white, and I wanted some practice. The best advice for B&W I've ever heard came from Humbug of Tales of Pylea [link] (a webcomic), which I shall summarize: don't be shy with the black.
I worry that it looks TOO dramatic though. Too bold. And I'm totally going by my gut too with this. I don't know if I did it right, but I DO like the final outcome. Takes a bugger of a long time though. Hopefully, it will come faster the more I do it. Experience has taught me the opposite, however.

heya, I like number 5 the best actually, but I have a suggestion. Have you tried using normal outlining, and a gray pen for heavy shading? It might reduce some of the harsh/drama aspects of the style (#2). I know that i tend to find it difficult to read comics done in this style, however #1 looks incomplete somehow, so does #5 actually, but less so. #6 is less harsh than #2, but still more so than I like. and greyscale is certainly going to be more work for you than b&w, esp if you still have to include the shadowed parts.
